The New Midtown Greenway Extension is Now Open!

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

As of December 2023, the East River Midtown Greenway is open to the public for walking, jogging, biking, and family enjoyment. EsplanadeFriends has been working closely with The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and NYC Parks who officially opened the East Midtown Greenway and Phase 2B of Andrew Haswell Green Park at the end of 2023 with a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Fall Events Along the East River

This fall, join Friends of the East River Esplanade for a series of engaging events on the water. Fall programming includes bird walks with the NYC Bird Alliance, free yoga classes at Andrew Haswell Green Park, fishing with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and more family-friendly events.

Friends of the East River Esplanade hosted a fun event with free ice cream, kids craft activities and live salsa music for people of all ages by the East River Waterfront at 60th Street at Andrew Haswell Park on June 1, 2024.
